This Music Class starts where the Preschooler’s Mind Dwells

Where does the mind of the 3-5 year old children dwell?  In their imagination.  They are learning about the world by mimicking what they see, live, believe, and make up, through pretend play.

That’s where the Kindermusik Imagine That program for 3 – 5 year old children begins.

For the first time ever, due to parent requests, Ms. Debbie is offering an afternoon class, which gives THREE options for class times:

  • Tuesdays at 3:00 pm (NEW)
  • Wednesdays at 12:30 pm
  • Thursdays at 11:30 am

These are the TOP SEVEN things Ms. Debbie LOVES about the Imagine That ! Program:

1.  Preschool children are fully engaged and learning when they are in the midst of structured pretend play.  Their imaginations are soaring at this stage in their development, and the Kindermusik Imagine That program is designed to take advantage of this, both in class, and throughout the week.  Even though the play has structure, it is open ended so that the unique personalities of each child get to shine, and the story line adapts as the activity plays out.

2.  The students participate independently for 30 min., providing the perfect first opportunity for some 3-4 year olds to experience a world of learning separate from their parent.   With 12 years of experience, and a flexible approach to parent involvement, we can work through a child’s fears, leading to confidence and joy in independent learning situations.

3.  During the last 15 minutes, the parents join the class so they can continue to be a part of the child’s musical world, and can understand how to continue the learning during the week with the music, instruments, books and play set.

4.  The Imagine That! Home Activity Book lays out creative weekly home projects.   Young children are excited about having their own “homework” (esp. if they are younger siblings) !  What a great way to introduce the delightful process of expanding the learning outside of class.  And they are so PROUD to show off their projects to their teacher and other students !!!

5.  The theme of each unit focuses on objects and concepts that the students are familiar with, and may be fascinating to them.  Kindermusik is careful to choose themes from REAL LIFE – not mythical creatures or abstract concepts.  This curriculum builds more knowledge and enthusiasm for the subject matter.  For example:

  • Fall unit (Sept – Dec.) is about the Weather:  sunny days, windy, rainy, and stormy days, crisp fall days when the leaves fall, and cold winter days of snow and ice.  (Florida style!)
  • Spring unit (Jan – April) is about Cities:  life as it plays out in urban neighborhoods (nice ones), interesting places, and interesting people: artists, vendors, and store owners you may meet in your neighborhood.

6.  In May 2013, I am excited to offer a brand NEW program from Kindermusik International with only Digital Home Materials – music, books, activities, and games all online and accessible through electronic devices.  These online activities are delightful, and relate specifically to the themes and musical concepts we begin in class  !!!  The theme for this May unit will be announced in the Spring.

7.  MOSTLY, I LOVE watching the full personality, and musical nature, of each child blossom through the process of music, movement, and imaginative play.

Come join in this awesome experience and tell me what you love best about this program.  Not bragging or anything, but most of the students will say their favorite part about this class is Ms. Debbie.  That’s cool, they are really my favorite part too.

<3 <3 <3 …This class is a time when I've seen my children come alive! With Ms. Debbie's help, they have a magical time of guided play and learning through imagination. Although they are often pretend playing in another climate, city, or culture – they actually become more aware of themselves and their current surroundings. The children thrive in this safe environment of creativity and gain confidence for their real worlds – "Imagine That!"
