In the fourth semester of Kindermusik for the Young Child, students recieve their own recorder – beautiful classy ones with a pure tone.  Plastic, but very high quality.  During the first part of the semester, they learn that the same notes they have learned on the glockenspiel, and the dulcimer, can also be played on the recorder.  Because of their background in these skills, and their familiarity of the fun Kindermusik songs, they soon find themselves playing a good variety of songs they know.

I thought it would be fun to share a video which talks a bit about the history of the recorder, and shows how true high quality wooden recorders are made.  He also demonstrates by playing a few melodies for us.  Enjoy!
