- Wednesdays 11:30 (FULL this Summer)
This program is right for you and your child if:
Your baby is a cuddler, a wiggler, a scooter, or a crawler, or even taking wobbly steps, basking in your attention, and absorbing an amazing foundation for learning through sensory experiences.
Enrollment in a Nutshell:
Enrollment is just $65 a month with a session subscription, and includes 34 lessons from end of Aug – mid-May, with fresh new units about every 5 weeks, each of which includes a CD of high quality music, delightful board book, and a new instrument or prop to help build your baby’s home libraries.
Enroll at any time, and stay enrolled easily, even as you move up to the next age group.
Your young baby has slept (as well as possible), been fed, diapered, and cuddled… and both of you are ready for some fun… maybe even ready to LEAVE the house and connect with people. But where? Imagine a safe and happy place where you and Baby can get down on the floor, connecting with each other and other families in fun musical ways that nurture both you and your child.
For many families, Kindermusik is an outing they look forward to attending each week with their baby. Many even find more, as friendships blossom and they find they are part of a little community of people making the best of life for their family at each of these young ages and stages.
Kindermusik FOUNDATIONS is designed, by Kindermusik International, specifically to meet the needs of cuddlers, creepers, crawlers, and early toddlers, along with the loving adults who care for them.
Here in Lakeland, FL, we are offering this mommy and me style program once a week. It has become a little haven for our younger babies and their moms, whether new moms, or those with multiple children who thrive with their one on one time with baby ! Of course, Dad’s and Grandparents are welcome anytime, and are often lucky enough to be the baby’s full time partner in music making.
Through our private Facebook GROUP, specifically created for OUR enrolled local Kindermusik families , the PARENTS are also able to connect in a more interactive way. This is our happy online space where we can share our musical journey together, sharing pictures and stories from class, and home.
Together, we become a cozy support system for each other as we face the challenges and delights of this time of tiny.
If you think about it, your day-to-day routine with a young baby is a lot like a piece of music. Ups, down, repetitions, patterns, fast parts, slow parts, and lots (and lots) of improvising! From tiny to toddling, babies do best with a certain rhythm to their day. When music, and playful interactions are a part of these routines, they can develop into loving rituals for you and your little one. You may already include some well loved songs you learned from your own parents, helping your baby begin to feel the connection to the family and culture of their heritage. If so – you have created an excellent beginning for your child.
Perhaps your daily routines need some musical “spice”… new songs to sing, new ways to interact with your baby, and some connection with other families, to more fully enjoy this wonderful time of tiny. That’s what I found when I first discovered Kindermusik back in 1996, when my little man was so young. It has been such GOOD “spice” in my life that I became addicted to it, and have been dedicated to offering this opportunity to families as a teacher since 1998.
Building Your Baby’s Library of Sounds
You will love recieving new recordings, a new book, a unique instrument, and more as we start each new unit of Kindermusik based on unique themes, such as things that go, animal pets, or farm life, etc. So much more than listening, you will be surrounding your baby with sounds and loving interactions as you sing along, or dance and move with these recordings.
Parents tell me that this music works like magic with their babies in the car, or when they are fussy for seemingly no apparent reason. At this age, the brain is so much more capable than the body, and it is looking for patterns and connections through rich and complex experiences, so the music on the recordings are designed as the perfect playground for building a strong neural foundation for learning.
Each uniquely themed unit includes:
- CD of high quality music featuring a variety of voices, instruments, and styles presenting songs and chants
- Baby Board book with interesting characters, story lines, and word plays
- A Unique Instrument – designed and made durable, specifically for babies
Kindermusik fully believes that as the person who spends the most time with baby, YOU are your child’s first teacher, and that the primary learning takes place in the home and throughout the routines of your days together. By having the following tools, you are able to enhance your ability to incorporate joyful music, movement, language, and learning activities into your baby’s active life throughout the day. As you begin to more fully understand the importance of these activities to your babies’ development, you will fine tune your skills, and watch your child thrive in so many ways.
The best way to experience this opportunity is to visit a class and try it out for yourself. We will be happy to answer any of your questions.
The 2018-19 School Year Kindermusik Session of Foundations will include 7 unique units, each with new music, book and more, for a total of 34 lessons.
Aug – Sept: Nature Walk – Let’s explore the wonders and sensations of the outdoors! We’ll use our eyes to look all around, and our ears to listen to all of the sounds we hear. Plus, we’ll touch, and smell, and move, and play! There’s no feast for the senses quite like a Nature Walk.
Sept – Oct: Music Makes My Day – If you think about it, your day-to-day routine is a lot like a piece of music. Ups, downs, repetitions, patterns, fast parts, slow parts, and lots (and lots) of improvising! Music Makes My Day focuses on daily rituals and parts of the day, and gets you thinking about anticipation, improvisation, singing, instruments, new rituals, and other ways to make your same-old routine fun and musical.
Nov – Dec: Peas & Carrots – Yum, yum, yum. Are you hungry? In Peas & Carrots, you’ll have fun moving, singing, and playing as you explore snacks, meals, cooking, and mm, mm, eating!
Jan – Feb: Mama Goose – Nursery rhymes endure for a reason. They’re quirky, rhymey, and memorable–and are also magical for speech and language development, as they work to “wire” the brain for communication before speech even begins! What bliss to share something with your child that your parents shared with you–or better yet, to learn and share one for the very first time!
Feb – Mar: Old MacDonald – Time to tune up baby’s listening ears, because we’re off to the farm! With a hee-haw here and a cock-a-doodle there–when Old MacDonald gets involved, you never know whom you might run into.
Mar – Apr: Rise & Shine – Good morning, sunshine–it’s time to start the day! Babies can start their days in all kinds of ways–but the way to make the most of mornings is to establish a loving, predictable, day-to-day pattern. Up and at ’em routines and rituals take center stage in Rise & Shine!
Apr – May: Bluebird, Bluebird – is a sound-rich flight (of fancy) into the sky, where we’ll explore birds, feathers, and the wide open outdoors.
