In the room where I teach Kindermusik in Lakeland, Florida, other music and movement options are taking up residence as well. Yoga uses music to help the body flow through the movements, encourages positive mindfulness, and promotes the wholeness of relaxation.
Currently at KRaP Art Studios, there are two different types of yoga programs offered so far. But I hear there will be more… ?
- Vinyasa Yoga with Mariah
- YIN with Corrinne!
VINYASA YOGA with MARIAH
Adult and older teens. Classes run 60 minutes each. $40 a month, or $12 per class.
- MONDAYS – 6:00 – 7 pm.
- THURSDAYS – 6:30 – 7:30 pm.
Vinyasa Yogo synchronizes movement with breathing, and becomes smooth, like a dance.
Vinyasa is literally translated from Sanskrit as meaning “connection,” according to Ellen Stansell, PhD, RYT, a scholar of yogic literature and Sanskrit. In terms of yoga asana, we can interpret this as a connection between movement and breath. A cat-cow stretch is an example of a very simple vinyasa, because the spine is arched on an inhale and rounded on an exhale.
With Mariah, the energy level is taken up a notch and it becomes a full workout for the body and mind.
YIN with CORINNE!
.

- WEDNESDAYS – 6:00 – 7 pm.
